Elk Mound is a cozy home from the bustling work place. Located ideally close to the surrounding communities of Chippewa Falls, Menomonie, and Eau Claire, two miles to I-94 and all points East, West, North or South. The major metropolitan area of Minneapolis/St. Paul is just over an hour drive away.

 

The residents of Elk Mound are prideful of their quiet and comfortable hometown atmosphere. Typical sights and sounds of the village are evidenced by church steeples and their resounding bells, children’s voices at school activities, hikers on tree filled Elk Mound Hill; whistling and shouting hellos from the two story castle tower to walkers on the streets bellow. No weekends go by without the joyous sounds of a wedding, graduation or family reunion celebration at the 22-acre full-service park.

 

The Elk Mound Village Park is open from 6 AM until 11 PM daily. The park includes a pavilion, ball fields, disc golf course and children’s play equipment. The park pavilion is available to rent for private gatherings. For more information, contact the Village Clerk-Treasurer at 715-879-5011.

 

Mound Hill Park is open May 1st until October 31st from 8 AM until 10 PM. The castle on Mound Hill offers a panoramic view of the Village and surrounding areas.

 

The Village thrives with community involvement in quality expectations of the educational system, village government, new business and housing growth.

 

Elk Mound School District includes an elementary, middle and high school. For more information on the Elk Mound School System: http://www.elkmound.k12.wi.us. The Village Hall houses the clerks’ office, public works office and police department. The schools and government offices, are just two blocks apart, adding to the security and quaintness of the community. Two banks, the local convenience store, two parks and numerous businesses round out the small-town ambiance of larger communities.
